The second year of VFO officially started in November 2017, following the release of the EA SPORTS FIFA 18 videogame in late September. 15 clubs from Spanish LaLiga, brand clubs such as Philips HUE and Lenovo, clubs from professional football players like DV7 e-Soccer, professional videogame clubs and amateur clubs will compete in three different tournaments: 1 league and 2 Cups.

Sevilla FC, Valencia CF, Villarreal CF, Real Sociedad, Sporting de Gijón, Betis, Espanyol, Leganés, Eibar, Real Zaragoza, Levante, Nàstic de Tarragona, CF Reus, Cádiz and Lugo are the clubs from Spanish LaLiga that will compete with their own virtual squad for the different platforms: Microsoft Xbox, Sony PlayStation and PC.

Players continue to support VFO and the competition has experienced a notable growth in participants, coming from 7,000 players and 400 teams by the end of Year 1 in June 2017, to over 20,000 players and 800 teams for Year 2, which makes VFO the biggest competition by number of players of any single videogame in Spain.
